Family farm and industrial labor only realistic employment choice for many. School is a privilege.
Restriction to dating the same race /class. Shotgun weddings and no birth control.

Too much food. Risk of obesity.
Too much Entertainment. Mass Media targeting children as consumers. Many ways to communicate: email, cell phones.
Many career choices, Dysfunctional schools. School is a "Right".
Many dating and mating choices, effective birth control, and early physical maturation.
